Okay, so my mindmap for this session was far too big, messy and complex to share! Instead, here are a couple of thoughts on what seemed to be common to all 7 of the Action Research projects speakers talked about, and a little map summary of how Action Research was explained in general...
- Action research helps you better understand student needs - you're having a different kind of conversation with students, outside the boundaries of 'business-as-usual' teaching
- Students involved in the research seemed to benefit as well as the teachers who ran the research
- Enthusiasm for research, PD and self-development is huge, and shows no sign of abating. Hooray! You can find out more about the English Australia Action Research program here
